Compare harbour and beach conditions with coast and mountain alternatives before choosing an outdoor day.
Sample data - not a live forecastStart with the local dates.
Sydney is often the right choice when the forecast gives a usable harbour or beach interval. Put the most exposed outdoor section there and use the city's indoor and neighbourhood options around it. Change the day before changing the city; another direction should be considered only when it materially changes heat, rain or wind for the plan.
Sydney has a maritime climate shaped by the Pacific, with coastal and western suburbs showing different temperature behaviour. The harbour and beaches make the outdoor plan open to wind, while heat can build more strongly inland. This is a city where choosing the right local edge may matter more than travelling.

Harbour and beach wind
Open water-facing plans can become uncomfortable when wind rises, even if temperatures are moderate; compare wind separately from rain before committing to a long shoreline route.
Coastal versus western heat
Sydney CBD is moderated by the ocean while western suburbs can be much hotter; use temperature and cloud to decide between harbour, park and indoor plans.
Directions, not permanent winners.
Inland from the harbour
An inland direction changes sea-breeze exposure and can increase heat rather than relieve it. Compare the actual temperature window before leaving the moderated coast.
Along the ocean coast
A coastal outing keeps the emphasis on open-water wind and showers. It needs a clearer usable advantage than a different view of the same weather.
